OUR HISTORY
Parent Citywide historical beginnings started in the city of San Francisco where a national group of educators "The Alliance of Black School Educators" which is a national organization based out of Washington D.C. the local chapter and the school district deemed it necessary to make parents a true component of students education. The Las Vegas Chapter started in 2000.
Parent Citywide was organized by parents that would provide outside
volunteerism within the school sites during after school hours. Creating academic supplemental programs that consist of several components that include; math, life skills, test proficiency assistance and strategies, drug prevention, conflict management, leadership skills, voters advocacy, economic development and business plan competitions.
Parent Citywide has conducted on site afterschool programs at several high schools and community base site (YMCA). These programs can be designed from 10-20 week programs and designed to fit the needs of students and school sites and assist with Annual Yearly Progress for each school site.
